In this Thread Staff will list everything about each Yokai aka Demons.

What is a Yokai?
Yōkai (妖怪) are creatures and phenomena of Japanese folklore including spirits, monsters, and just about all things supernatural. The word is derived from the kanji 妖 (yō in this context) meaning attractive, bewitching, or calamity, and 怪 (kai in this context) meaning mystery or wonder. There is much debate as to what constitutes Yōkai in Japanese tradition, as it is a broad and vague term with no real English translation, but most creatures and phenomena in the supernatural realm constitute yōkai in Japanese folklore. This includes ghosts, deities, demons, transformed animal spirits, spirit possession (think Tale of Genji), and just general strange phenomena. Some yōkai even supernaturally appear to forewarn of doom or impending events. The yōkai Amabie (アマビエ) is one example of such a creature.


In Elyasia, Yokai are just another name for Demons.

Animal type of Yokai

Fox demons are demons who resemble foxes. They have fox ears and tail(s) They are also shift into a fox animal form at will.
Can be found: the southern lands of Elyasia.
Powers: Fox fire, manipulate plant life
Other: Foxes in Elyasia can be born with 1 tail to 9 tails but 9 tails are really rare.

Dog Demons are humanoid shape-shifter demons with characteristics of dogs. All known dog demons are incredibly powerful. Although they spend most of their time in human-like forms, they have the ability to revert to their true forms, those of giant dogs.
Can be found: Anywhere
Powers: Depends of the dog.
Other: Think of Sesshomaru, Mathias and Toga.

Wolf demon are demons who resemble wolves. The ones that have a humanoid appearance have fangs and pointed ears, and the ones that aren't humanoid look like wolves slightly larger than the regular wolf, and have the ability to speak.
Can be found: Northern Lands
Powers: Depends of the wolf.
Other: Wolves and foxes don't like each out that well.

Cat demons are demons who resemble cats. The ones that have a humanoid appearance have fangs and Cat ears with a cat tail and the ones that aren't humanoid look like a wildcat and have the ability to speak.
Can be found: Anywhere
Powers: Depends of the cat.
Other: ???

Raven/Crows demons that can shift into raven or crows. Their humanoid appearance have black angel wings.
Can be found: All over Elyasia but mostly in the Northern lands
Powers: ???
Other: ???

Herons that can shift into white birds. Their humanoid appearance have White angel wings.
Can be found: Southern lands.
Powers: Unknown
Other: They are really rare.

Elemental Demons:

​Fire demon - Demons who can control fire. They are found a small towns. Think Heei and Hiei.

Ice Maiden/Ice demons - Demons who can control Ice. They are found a small towns. Think Yukina.

Water demon/Mer-peoples - Demons with a power over water. They are normally healers. ​Darkness Demon - Rare. Demons from the realm of Shadows. Not much is knew of them since they rarely show up.

​Time Demon - Really rare. These demons are well... unknown but from looking at Chrono, they can control time.
