Dragons
In Elyasia, there exist legendary creatures that roam freely. Many of these beings take on human appearances, while others remain concealed. Long before the current tale unfolds, a massive conflict among dragons took place, resulting in the death or disappearance of numerous clans. Consequently, Lyne decreed that all dragons must either assume human forms or seek refuge.
Elemental Dragons:
Fire Dragons (Crimson) - Fire Dragons are majestic creatures with scales that transition beautifully from deep ruby to bright vermilion, creating the illusion that their bodies smolder from within. Small heat vents line their spines, occasionally releasing wisps of steam when they become agitated or excited. Their heads are adorned with curved, swept-back horns featuring subtle flame-like ridges, while their tapered tails end in distinctive spade-shaped tips capable of heating up intensely—a feature they sometimes use to cauterize wounds.

These dragons possess retractable claws infused with a rare spark-generating mineral, allowing them to ignite fires even in challenging conditions. Along their necks, gill-like slits glow bright orange when they prepare to breathe fire, serving as a warning to potential threats. Even when dormant, Fire Dragons maintain an unusually warm body temperature that creates a noticeable heat haze around them in cooler environments.

The abilities of Fire Dragons extend far beyond simple fire-breathing. They can manipulate existing flames with remarkable precision, shaping and directing fire as though it were a physical extension of their will. Their unique sensory capabilities allow them to detect heat sources through solid objects, making them excellent hunters and formidable opponents. Their specialized saliva contains compounds that resist extreme temperatures, enabling them to lick their wounds without harm, while they can briefly superheat their scales for defensive purposes when threatened.

Personality-wise, Fire Dragons are passionate and driven creatures, often pursuing their goals with singular, unwavering focus. Though territorial by nature, they recognize the value of strategic alliances and will form bonds when circumstances demand it. They place great importance on demonstrations of courage and strength, respecting those who stand their ground even in the face of their intimidating presence. Despite their association with destructive flames, they often display surprising patience—much like a slow-burning ember that can suddenly erupt into a blaze when the moment is right.

In their humanoid appearances, Fire Dragons typically manifest with vibrant red hair and striking crimson eyes. Their skin tends to have slightly warmer tones than other dragon types, and many bear small birthmarks resembling flame patterns. Their irises shift in brightness according to their emotional state, becoming particularly intense during moments of passion or anger. Those who encounter them often note their distinctive rasping voice quality and their tendency to flush quickly when emotional. They naturally gravitate toward metalworking and forge-related crafts, finding comfort and creative expression in environments that would be unbearable to others.

Lightning Dragons (Purple) - Lightning Dragons are striking creatures with scales that shimmer in various shades of purple, from deep amethyst to brilliant violet, often with metallic undertones that catch and reflect light in sudden flashes. Delicate, branching patterns reminiscent of lightning bolts run across their bodies, glowing with faint electrical energy that intensifies during storms or heightened emotional states. Their wings feature translucent membranes with visible electrical currents running through them like living circuitry, while their horns rise in jagged, zigzagging formations that act as natural conductors.

These magnificent dragons possess sleek, aerodynamic bodies built for incredible bursts of speed. Small static-generating nodules dot their spine and tail, occasionally discharging tiny sparks when they move suddenly. Their eyes are perhaps their most mesmerizing feature—brilliant purple orbs that sometimes crackle with inner lightning when they focus their power, resembling miniature electrical storms. Their claws and teeth contain conductive materials that can channel electrical energy with surgical precision.

The abilities of Lightning Dragons are as impressive as they are dangerous. They can generate powerful electrical discharges capable of stunning large prey or deterring predators. Their incredible neural speed gives them reflexes that appear almost precognitive, allowing them to react to threats before they fully materialize. Many Lightning Dragons can "read" electromagnetic fields, sensing electrical impulses in other creatures' nervous systems—essentially feeling others' emotions and intentions. The most powerful among them can temporarily transform their bodies into pure electrical energy for short distances, moving at literal lightning speed.

Lightning Dragons embody a fascinating duality in their personalities. They can be unpredictable and impulsive, changing directions as quickly as the lightning they channel, yet also possess surprising analytical depth. They thrive on intellectual stimulation and novel experiences, becoming restless when forced to remain idle for too long. Their decision-making tends toward quick, intuitive leaps rather than methodical reasoning, though these insights often prove remarkably accurate. They form intense but sometimes fleeting bonds, their attention constantly drawn to new possibilities and horizons.

In their humanoid appearances, Lightning Dragons manifest with striking purple hair ranging from soft lavender to deep violet, often with an unusual sheen that catches light in unexpected ways. Their purple eyes may contain flecks of silver or white that seem to move and shift like electrical discharges. Their movements tend to be quick and fluid, with an inherent grace that makes them appear lighter than they actually are. Many display a habit of light finger-tapping when thinking or focusing, as if their excess energy seeks constant release. Their voices often carry a melodic quality with surprising range, and many find themselves naturally attuned to musical instruments, particularly those producing clear, resonant tones.

Water Dragons (Blue) - Water Dragons embody the essence of the deep seas with scales that range from pale cerulean to midnight navy, often shifting in color depending on their surroundings and emotional state. Their scales possess a glossy, fluid-like quality that creates the illusion of rippling water when they move, especially in sunlight. Fine, translucent fins extend from their spine, behind their ears, and along their limbs, elegantly unfurling underwater but lying flat when on land. Their powerful tails end in broad, paddle-like fins that propel them through water with remarkable speed and precision, while their webbed claws allow for exceptional maneuverability in aquatic environments.

These magnificent creatures possess elongated, streamlined bodies reminiscent of ancient sea serpents, with elegant neck frills that expand underwater to sense minute vibrations and changes in current. Their eyes are particularly striking—deep blue orbs with horizontal, diamond-shaped pupils that can adjust to see clearly both underwater and on land. Faintly luminescent spots along their underbellies and facial features create haunting patterns in dark waters, sometimes used for communication with their own kind or to mesmerize prey. Their bodies naturally secrete a subtle protective coating that reduces friction in water and maintains their hydration when exposed to air for extended periods.

The abilities of Water Dragons extend far beyond mere swimming prowess. They can manipulate water in its various forms—liquid, ice, and vapor—with remarkable control and artistic precision. Many can generate powerful water jets capable of cutting through stone or create swirling vortexes to disorient enemies. Their lungs have evolved to extract oxygen from both air and water, allowing them to remain submerged indefinitely. The most powerful Water Dragons can influence weather patterns over bodies of water, calling forth mists, gentle rains, or even devastating storms when threatened. Their natural affinity for healing means their saliva contains regenerative properties, particularly effective for treating burns.

Water Dragons embody the dual nature of their element in their personalities—they can be tranquil and contemplative like a still lake, or powerfully dynamic like a raging tsunami. They tend to be more patient than other dragon species, often preferring to observe and consider before taking action. Their emotional intelligence runs deep, with an intuitive understanding of the connections between all living things. Water Dragons value harmony and balance, often serving as mediators in conflicts between dragon clans. Despite their generally peaceful nature, when provoked, their wrath can be as unstoppable and all-consuming as a flood, though such displays of temper typically recede as quickly as they arose.

In their humanoid appearances, Water Dragons manifest with hair in various shades of blue, often with an unusual fluidity of movement that seems to defy gravity. Their blue eyes might contain subtle ring patterns resembling ripples on water. Their skin tends to remain hydrated regardless of climate, with a slight iridescence visible in certain lighting. Many display a graceful, flowing quality to their movements that makes them natural dancers. Their voices often carry a soothing, melodic quality that can calm troubled minds, while their laughter resembles the pleasant bubbling of a brook. They're naturally drawn to coastal regions and feel inexplicably restless when away from water sources for too long. Many Water Dragons in humanoid form instinctively understand weather patterns and tidal movements, making them exceptional navigators and guides for ocean travel. (If I add Final Fantasy then Leviathan would be this)

Nature Dragons (Green) - Nature Dragons embody the vibrant essence of the living world with scales that range from soft moss green to deep emerald, often featuring subtle patterns that mirror the veins of leaves or the intricate branching of trees. These scales aren't uniform in color but instead display a rich tapestry of green hues that shift with the seasons, sometimes developing golden or russet highlights during autumn months. Their bodies are adorned with natural growths that blur the line between dragon and plant—small ferns may sprout between their scale ridges, while vines and flowering plants can intertwine with their horns and spines, living in perfect symbiosis with the dragon's body.

These remarkable creatures feature distinctive wooden-looking horns that branch like antlers, growing slowly throughout their lives and occasionally flowering during spring. Their tails often end in leafy tufts or bulbous structures resembling seed pods that can release various spores with healing or defensive properties. Their wings present a fascinating structure, with membranes that resemble enormous leaves complete with visible veins and varying levels of transparency. Nature Dragons' eyes are perhaps their most captivating feature—deep green orbs flecked with gold that seem to contain entire forests within their depths, pupils shaped like tiny seedlings that expand and contract with their moods.

The abilities of Nature Dragons are intimately connected to the plant world and life forces. They can accelerate plant growth with their breath, turning barren ground into lush gardens within minutes or causing trees to bend and move according to their will. Many possess remarkable healing capabilities, able to synthesize natural remedies for almost any ailment from their own bodies. They share a unique connection with the plant consciousness network, allowing them to communicate across vast distances through root systems and sense disturbances in natural areas far beyond their physical presence. The oldest Nature Dragons can even transform portions of their bodies into plant matter temporarily, blending perfectly into forest environments or extending vine-like appendages to manipulate objects at a distance.

Nature Dragons embody the temperament of the ancient forests in their personalities—steady, patient, and nurturing, yet hiding unexpected depths and occasional fierce protectiveness. They tend to think in longer timescales than other dragons, sometimes pondering decisions for what others might consider excessive periods, though this deliberation typically leads to remarkably balanced judgments. Their emotional connections run deep, with relationships that develop slowly but endure for centuries. They value growth and transformation above all else, seeing setbacks as merely part of life's natural cycles rather than true failures. While generally peaceful, threats to their territories or loved ones awaken a primal ferocity reminiscent of nature's untamed power.

In their humanoid appearances, Nature Dragons manifest with hair in various green shades that grows unusually quickly and often develops small leaves or flower buds when they experience strong emotions. Their green eyes might change intensity with the seasons, brightest during spring and summer months. Many display subtle markings resembling vine patterns across their skin, sometimes with small patches that feel bark-like in texture. Their body temperature runs slightly cooler than average, and they often carry a subtle, pleasant scent reminiscent of fresh herbs or forest rain. When speaking, their voices hold harmonious qualities that sometimes include unexpected sounds like the rustling of leaves or distant birdsong woven into their words. They possess an uncanny green thumb, able to revive nearly dead plants with minimal effort and create thriving gardens in seemingly impossible conditions.

Snow Dragons(White) - White Dragons embody the pristine beauty of winter landscapes with scales that shimmer in various shades of white, from soft pearl to brilliant diamond-like crystalline structures that refract light into subtle rainbow patterns. Their scales possess a unique layered quality that provides exceptional insulation against cold while appearing delicately thin, creating the illusion of freshly fallen snow atop a glacier's ancient ice. Fine crystalline formations often grow along their spine, shoulders, and facial features, forming intricate patterns that resemble frost flowers or snowflakes, each dragon displaying a unique arrangement as distinctive as their personality.

These majestic creatures possess elegantly tapered bodies with powerful musculature hidden beneath their seemingly delicate exterior. Their wings feature feather-like scale formations that allow for silent flight, making them appear as ghostly apparitions when gliding across night skies. Their tails often end in diamond-shaped structures composed of extremely dense ice that can be used as formidable weapons or precise tools. White Dragons' eyes are particularly mesmerizing—clear as frozen lakes with pupils that contract to thin vertical slits, capable of perceiving heat signatures and reflecting available light to see clearly even in near-total darkness. Small prisms naturally form at the edge of their eyes, occasionally casting tiny rainbows across their faces when they catch direct sunlight.

The abilities of White Dragons extend far beyond their obvious ice manipulation. They can lower the ambient temperature around them dramatically, freeze moisture from the air to create weapons or structures instantaneously, and generate blinding flashes of light by manipulating the reflective properties of ice crystals. Their breath can range from numbing cold mist to devastating shards of magical ice that seek their targets with uncanny precision. Some White Dragons can induce a state of suspended animation in willing subjects, preserving them through times of hardship. The most ancient among them are rumored to perceive glimpses of possible futures in the fractal patterns of snowflakes and ice formations, giving them an almost prophetic wisdom.

White Dragons embody a fascinating contradiction in their personalities—they can appear cold and detached like the remote mountaintops they often inhabit, yet harbor emotional depths as profound as ancient glacier crevasses. They value clarity of thought and purpose, often spending long periods in meditation to refine their understanding of themselves and the world. White Dragons typically display careful reservation in their judgments and actions, preferring to observe thoroughly before committing themselves. They possess remarkable emotional resilience, weathering life's challenges with steadfast composure. While they may initially seem aloof to strangers, those who earn their trust discover surprising warmth and unwavering loyalty beneath their cool exterior.

In their humanoid appearances, White Dragons manifest with striking white hair that often displays an unusual crystalline quality, catching and refracting light in beautiful ways. Their eyes range from pale silver to the purest white, sometimes lacking visible pupils altogether or featuring snowflake patterns within the iris. Their skin tends to be fair with a subtle luminous quality, remaining cool to the touch regardless of ambient temperature. Many display exceptional grace in their movements, particularly in winter environments where others might struggle. Their voices often carry a crisp, clear quality that can cut through noise like bells ringing in mountain air. White Dragons in humanoid form rarely show discomfort in cold environments, often wearing minimal protection where others would require heavy insulation, and many find themselves naturally drawn to vocations involving precision, preservation, or divination.

Black Dragons(Black) - Black Dragons command an awe-inspiring presence with scales that absorb light rather than reflect it, creating a void-like depth that seems to pull in the observer's gaze. Their scales shift between shades of obsidian, onyx, and midnight, with subtle iridescent undertones that reveal deep purples, blues, and greens when caught in certain angles of light. Unlike other dragons whose scales might glitter or shine, Black Dragons possess a unique matte finish that makes them appear as living shadows, with only the edges of their form clearly defined against their surroundings. Their bodies often feature intricate patterns visible only when light strikes at precise angles, revealing ancient rune-like markings that seem to absorb ambient magical energy.

These formidable creatures possess powerful, muscular builds with jagged, asymmetrical features that evoke primordial chaos. Their wings span impressive distances, composed of leathery membrane reinforced with bone structures that create distinctive serrated edges. Small wisps of dark energy occasionally trail from their wingtips during flight, leaving temporary rifts in the air behind them. Their heads feature multiple crown-like horn arrangements that grow more elaborate with age, while their eyes present as luminous orbs of various dark hues—deep violet, midnight blue, or smoldering crimson—with vertical pupils that widen dramatically in darkness, giving them exceptional night vision. Their tails end in complex, mace-like structures composed of condensed dark matter that can disrupt magical fields on contact.

The abilities of Black Dragons extend into realms beyond conventional elemental mastery. They can manipulate shadows and darkness as tangible substances, creating solid constructs or wielding darkness like a physical force. Many possess the power to temporarily negate other magical abilities within their vicinity, making them natural antagonists to magic users. Their breath doesn't manifest as conventional element but rather as waves of entropic energy that accelerate decay or temporarily drain vitality from living beings. The most ancient Black Dragons can create localized spatial distortions, bending light around themselves for perfect camouflage or opening small, temporary portals between distant locations. Some rare individuals demonstrate limited abilities to perceive and interact with spectral entities or forces from beyond conventional reality.

Black Dragons embody complexity and contradiction in their personalities—they are simultaneously creatures of destruction and creation, constantly breaking down existing structures to forge new possibilities. They possess insatiable curiosity about forbidden knowledge and cosmic mysteries, often accumulating esoteric libraries filled with tomes others would consider dangerous. Their thinking tends toward unconventional paths, allowing them to perceive solutions others might miss entirely. Black Dragons typically maintain a certain emotional detachment that can appear as arrogance or aloofness, though this often masks their intense internal struggles between order and chaos. Those few who gain their genuine trust discover surprisingly philosophical minds concerned with profound questions of existence, purpose, and the fundamental nature of reality itself.

In their humanoid appearances, Black Dragons manifest with hair in various dark shades—jet black, midnight blue, deep purple, or occasionally with subtle color shifts depending on lighting. Their eyes might appear as any dark hue but typically maintain an unusual depth that seems to hold ancient wisdom and hidden power. Their skin often bears subtle, shifting patterns reminiscent of their draconic scales' markings, sometimes appearing as intricate tattoo-like designs that change position slightly when not directly observed. Many display unnaturally fluid movements as if partially detached from conventional physics, and they often cast slightly darker shadows than would seem natural. Their voices frequently contain multiple subtle harmonics simultaneously, creating an unsettling yet mesmerizing effect when they speak. Black Dragons in humanoid form often find themselves naturally attuned to astronomical events and cosmic cycles, experiencing profound intuitive insights during celestial alignments or significant astrological occurrences. (Bahamut would represent this)
