He could sense her presence, her scent filling the air - a comforting, familiar aroma that never failed to draw him in. Sesshomaru approached the bed, his footsteps nearly inaudible on the tatami mats. He paused, watching Raina for a long moment, taking in the way her hair cascaded over her shoulders and down her back, the soft curve of her cheek illuminated by the dim lamp light.

Sesshomaru reached out, his long, elegant fingers brushing a stray lock of hair from Raina's face, tucking it gently behind her ear. His touch was feather-light, almost reverent, as if he were handling something precious and fragile.

He settled his weight on his elbows to keep from crushing her, his hips nestling between her thighs. A flicker of surprise crossed his face at her bold action, but it quickly softened into a look of indulgent acceptance. One hand continued to stroke her hair, while the other traced the curve of her waist, his fingers splaying possessively over her hip. Sesshomaru's eyes, now at her eye level, studied Raina's face intently, taking in the way her lashes fluttered against her cheeks, the soft parting of her lips. He leaned down, his nose brushing against her temple as he inhaled deeply, savoring her scent. Despite his initial aloofness, Sesshomaru seemed content to let Raina set the pace, his body a warm, solid presence above her.
