Amara and Rath's Tale
This story is rated R for explicit sexual situations (yaoi and chan)
In five days, Rathamaru would turn 14. JungSo was planning a huge festival with every clan leader, a banquet fit for kings, even fireworks. He also promised his pet a very special present.
Rathamaru soon got caught up in the excitement and asked Calfor if she knew what his present was.
"Please, Calfor, you have to tell me!"
"I have no idea what it could be."
"But you always know everything. You must have an idea."
"Not a clue."
They were in his room, and Rath was watching her fold his clothes. He wrinkled his forehead in concentration.
"Don't frown. You'll make wrinkles." She told him.
"No, I won't. I am a demon. I won't grow old."
"No, but you are growing up. Soon you will be taller than the Master."
"I don't think he likes that. I have been trying to walk scrunched a little, but he tells me to stand up straight. I don't want him to be displeased. I wish there was a way to stop growing."
"How tall was your father?"
"My father? It has been so long since I saw him that I barely remember him. He seemed huge, but I was very small. I don't know." He ended lamely.
Calfor remained silent for a while, continuing her task, then she quietly asked, "Wouldn't you like to see them again?"
"For a visit, I guess so. But if you mean to leave the Master and return to them, never! I am happy here. And the Master is happy with me! Why do you keep inferring that he is not?"
"He is very happy with you, but you are growing up."
"So what! Why can't I be with him when I am grown up?"
Calfor sighed deeply, "Because he has never been with anyone older than twelve."
"And I am nearly fourteen! That proves that he loves me and wants to be with me. You make me angry! Always saying that the Master is going to send me home. This is my home! And I want to be here!"
"Do you think that being paraded in front of everyone is love? He only loves your body, your beauty."
"That's a lie!" Rathamaru narrowed his eyes in anger. Usually Calfor backed down, but for some reason, today she wasn't giving up.
"Oh, child! I am only trying to forestall future pain. See the truth! JungSo does not love you! He loves only himself. You are merely a plaything for him, an object of beauty, something to satisfy his hunger with. He does not know how to love."
"I hate you!" Rathamaru cried, jumping to his feet. "You are cruel and heartless!"
Calfor turned ashen, suddenly realizing just how far she had gone. If he told the Master, she would punished severely, perhaps killed. "Rathamaru! Forgive me! Please, child, do not shout or the servants will tell the Master of our quarrel."
"He should know your lies!" The boy said stubbornly, but sat back down.
"Would you have me whipped and beaten?"
"He would not to that." But even as he said the words, he knew they were a lie. Of course the Master would. He had seen the marks on other servants and guards. He lowered his voice, "Don't worry. I won't say anything. I swear it. Just don't say that he doesn't love me. Please, Calfor, I love him so much."
Calfor looked into his pleading eyes, and her heart melted. "Perhaps you have won his heart. Perhaps I am wrong and he does love you."
Finally the day of the party arrived and new clothes, antique ivory silk, delicately embroidered with golden threads, were given to Rathamaru. As usual he went barefoot; for some reason the Master preferred him that way. But several gold rings were put on his toes and fingers. He was breathtaking! And for once, he was going to a function clothed and in repose.
By the time Rathamaru arrived at the hall, it was full of dignitaries and clan leaders. JungSo was already on his throne and he beckoned the boy to him. He indicated the floor beside himself and Rathamaru sat next to him. He was awash with happiness!
There was not a formal dinner, rather sweet confections and tiny pies of meats and fowl were passed around on large trays. Wines from all corners of the land were available, but Rathamaru preferred to drink water. JungSo stroked his head and occasionally bent over and kissed his cheek.
Finally, when everyone had eaten and drunk their fill, he stood up, motioning for Rathamaru to do the same. "It is time for your present." He announced and snapped his fingers.
Two servants brought a cloaked and hooded person forward. Rathamaru looked at JungSo. His present was a person? The Mage walked to the robed figure and circled it, talking as he did. "What could be better than recreating your perfection, my Pet. Keeping it forever renewed, forever young?"
"I ... I don't understand." The boy stammered. The Mage was not making any sense at all.
With a flourish, JungSo pulled the cloak off the figure, revealed an almost naked body, clad only in a transparent top. Rathamaru's mouth dropped open when he saw what had been hidden -- she was a girl! A female!
So beautiful, so young and innocent, he thought his heart had stopped beating. She was just on the cusp of womanhood, thirteen or fourteen, and her entire body was trembling with fear. She had fair golden hair and large blue eyes as clear as the morning sky. Her skin was fair, almost translucent, and her breasts were small with nipples like pink rose buds, moving slightly with her trembling. A small navel nestled in a flat belly, and soft golden down hid precious treasures from view.
"You will procreate with her and produce a son. One that has both your beauty and hers. And I will train the child as I trained you. He will be as perfect as you are!" The Mage's eyes glittered insanely.
And in one blinding instance of clarity, Rathamaru realized that everything Calfor had said had been true. JungSo had never loved him. He loved only his beauty.
And he felt his heart break in two.
