Vara and the Red Dragon
[timeline: unknown] Chapter 5
An entire week had passed and Vara didn't even feel the days go by. She spent her mornings with Chichiri and her advisors, and tended to the many other demands on her time in the afternoon. And every day, she waited for night fall -- for her time with Tekken. Never had she felt this way about anyone before -- she wanted to be with him every night, loving him in every way possible. Was this how her mother felt with her males? Or was this somehow more? Never in her wildest dreams could she imagine feeling this way - so completely absorbed by one person. This was much more than just binding. Vara didn't feel this way about either Souten or Toyna; she felt affection for them, but not this all consuming need. Yet they were not left out. Vara's new-found knowledge was being passed on to Toyna, and she would also pass it on to Souten when he was healed enough to accept her. Every night, she would start in Toyna's bed -- when Souten was well, she would alternate between them -- and then go to Tekken's bed, where the beautiful Bobcat Demon was waiting.
Today had been even busier than usual. In the morning, Vara spent her time with Chichiri and her advisors and her afternoon with Suzuki, going over plans for his tower and what he could do to make the lands safe. He had already erected a magic barrier around the capital, not as strong as Bakura's barrier, but good enough for a country currently without enemies. As he grew stronger as a mage, he would also make his barrier stronger. Last week, a proclamation was put forth announcing that the former countries of Seiryuu, Byakko, and Genbu were to be combined into one country and what had once been known as the Four Gods World was now called Suzaku.
Also this morning, Souten had been pronounced fully healed and was very happy to be out of bed -- as was Mitsukake, his much-put-upon healer. He was already planning a trip with Toyna; a tour of the new country of Suzaku. Souten was going stir-crazy from being bedridden for so long and needed fresh air and a change of scenery. Vara agreed to let him travel on the condition that he take Toyna with him and that he not tire himself, but take it easy. And if he felt sick or weak, he was to return home immediately.
In the afternoon, Emperor Hotohori's widow, Houki, requested an audience. She was now six months pregnant with the late Emperor's son. Vara and Chichiri had often discussed what would happen when that son, Hotohori's heir to the throne, grew up. It wasn't so much that she wanted to be a queen; it was more that she didn't want to return to her mother's Castle and become a useless princess again.
Houki was shown into Vara's antechamber and Vara immediately offered her a chair. Houki gave a little bow and then sat down facing Vara.
"Thank you for seeing me."
"It is always a pleasure to see you. How have you been doing? Are you lacking for anything?" Vara asked, genuinely concerned about the young bride who had lost her husband, the Emperor, after only four months of marriage; another victim of the evil Naraku.
"No, my apartments are wonderful and everything is taken care of. But…" Houki began, then stopped, lowering her head. When she raised her face, tears were in her eyes. "Everywhere I go, everything I do, it all reminds me of my husband."
Vara took her hand gently, but couldn't think of the right words to say. To be left a young widow would be hard enough, but to also be carrying a child -- it must be heartrending.
"I wish to go back to my home, my parent's home, in Daleth, which is near the border of Otherworld. There are too many memories here."
"Of course! I only want you to be happy. Of course, a detachment of guards will be sent with you and your parent's home must be fortified - we must protect your child, Hotohori's heir."
"No!" Houki cried. "I just want to live a normal life. I don't want my son to become Emperor and die, like my husband, and his father and his father's father before him. All of the Emperors have died untimely deaths. I don't want that for my son. I want him to have a long happy life. The people are content with you as Queen and I would like it to stay that way. If you will have the papers drawn up, I will abdicate in my son's name."
"Are you sure this is what Hotohori would want? And what about your son? What will he want when he grows up?" This request seemed fraught with future consequences.
"Probably not, but it is what I want. I will raise my son to understand why I did this. I beg you to do as I ask." Houki said.
Vara nodded and Houki stood up to leave, "Thank you, Queen Vara. My son is all I have now. I do not want to lose him."
Vara summoned Chichiri and told him what had happened. The monk was also worried about the request. What would happen when the Emperor's son grew up and found out that his mother had given away his birthright? Would he accept it? But those worries were for the future; today there was nothing to do but draw up papers for Houki's signature.
That night Vara went to Souten's rooms. It had been a long time since she had been with the young Thunder Demon. He was sitting in front of the fire when she entered, and smiled when he saw her. She went to him, standing over him, and took his face in her hands, looking into his ruby-red eyes, as if searching for something. Then she kissed his forehead.
"Are you sure you are strong enough to go on a long journey?"
"Yes, and I need to get away from these walls. I can feel them closing in on me. I don't want to leave you, but I won't be gone that long, and when you are not with me, the need diminishes. I will be alright, and Toyna will be with me." Souten answered.
Vara nodded, and brushed his dark hair from his forehead. Then she went to his dresser and pick up his brush, and returned to his side, drawing up a chair. After unbraiding his long hair, she began to brush it, slow stroke after slow stroke. Souten closed his eyes, and let himself fall into the simple pleasure of it.
After a long while, Vara stopped brushing and stood up, holding out a slender hand to her first male. Souten took it and followed her to the bed. She slid his robe off to reveal his shoulder, and was glad to see that his skin was again unblemished. Demons could heal almost any wound without leaving even a trace of a scar.
Souten wrapped his arms tight around his Queen; he had missed her touch while he was recovering. He kissed her, gently at first, then deeper and harder, hungry for her. His whole body responded to being near her and Vara could feel the heat beginning to come off of the Thunder Demon.
He was so different from Tekken -- Souten never took the lead while Tekken always did; Souten quietly waited for her while Tekken demanded. And her lovemaking with Souten reflected his attitude -- she was always gentle with her young demon, her touches feathery and her kisses light. But Vara had learned much at the hands of Tekken and she applied her new-found knowledge to Souten, bringing the demon to his peak and then taking him even farther. In a very short time, he was ready, achingly erect, his penis swollen and dripping, his balls riding high. His deep red eyes were glazed with his need and his breath was a pant. He moved constantly under her hands, his writhing body slick with sweat. She could have drawn it out more, but it had been a long time since Souten had the use of her, so Vara took pity and straddled him, bringing him inside of her. He shoved in hard, unable to slow down, his body screaming for release. He lifted his torso up and grabbed her shoulders, digging his fingers into her flesh, his head between her breasts, thrusting hard. He quickly flooded her, crying out a sobbing moan of relief.
Vara stayed with him until he fell asleep, holding him in her arms, kissing his forehead. Her mother was right -- she was beginning to love them -- her first males, Souten and Toyna -- not with the passion that she had for Tekken -- but a gentle love, almost maternal in its nature. When he was fast asleep, she left his bed and went to her room to take a long hot bath -- just like her mother always did -- washing away the scent of one so that she could go to the next. And tonight it would not be Tekken she went to, but Toyna, since they were leaving in the morning. She sighed contently and got out of her bath, put on her robe, and went to Toyna.
