Chapter 13

He woke up in a darkened room, with a distant light bearing down on him, lighting him. Every muscle ached but he could not move to stretch them. Slowly he began to focus -- and remember.

He was alone in this room. A rope was suspended from the ceiling and encircled his chest. He was hanging from it, his head and shoulders had no support and all his muscles were screaming. His legs were doubled and tied with more of the same rope, keeping them apart and immobile. He could not stretch them out. How long had he hung here?

But as he became more aware of his body, he realized that the ropes were not the worst. A large phallus had been shoved into his anus and whenever he moved in the slightest, it would move inside of him painfully. He was completely erect -- he could now feel the coating of oil -- and his penis was roped to his waist.

And the spotlight put his misery on display for all to see. He could hear someone in the darkened part of the room, but said nothing.

He knew who it was.

Hours passed and the ache increased until his muscles locked into spasms of pain. He gritted his teeth and refused to complain.

Finally the Mage came forward into Rathamaru's vision and then moved to his side. He reached down and gently massaged the boy's swollen balls. "Why do you make me punish you like this?"

Rathamaru remained silent.

"Do you think I enjoy watching your pain?"

"Yes," came a choked word.

"You cannot think that!" The Mage exclaimed, genuinely appalled. "Haven't I always treated with kindness?"

"I was once fool enough to believe that, but not any longer. I finally see the truth."

"Ah, child! Your words hurt me!" JungSo pouted, moving his fingers to the stiff penis and fondling the velvet tip.

"Where is Calfor? And the girl?"

"Calfor? Insolent slave!" The Mage snarled, forgetting himself. "She has paid for her disobedience with her life."

"And the girl?"

"I gave her to one of the clan leaders on the condition that she be used by every male in his clan. Her virginal beauty was lost days ago. Whether or not she lives, I do not know. Nor do I care."

"Was she....?"

"With child? Of course not! If she had been, she would have been saved. You ruined my beautiful plan. But I forgive you. We will try again with someone else."

Rathamaru remained silent again, but the pain of his body was nothing compared to the pain of his heart. Calfor had been a mother to him. And his foolish idea -- not even a plan! -- had caused her death. For the first time in his life, anger flooded through him, emanating from every pore.

JungSo suddenly looked at him in alarm. "What are you doing?"

"Nothing."

The room's temperature began to climb rapidly and rivulets of sweat trailed down the Mage's back. "Stop this!"

"I'm not doing anything." Came Rathamaru's calm voice.

JungSo rushed to the door and reached for the handle, but it was already blister hot and the skin from his hand stayed on the door when he snatched it back. He cried out in pain. And turned to face the boy. He could now see them -- the waves of heat radiating out from his body. "Stop it! Control yourself!"

"How, Master? You never taught me how to be anything but your pet."

In a blinding flash of clarity, JungSo realized the truth. For years, he had treated the boy as just a harmless pet, when in truth he was a fire demon -- one with no control over his own power.

The rope holding him from the ceiling suddenly snapped as it was burnt through. Soon the other ropes vanished in puffs of smoke. The phallus melted and slipped free. The boy stood up slowly, trying to loosen his stiff muscles. JungSo put up a mystical barrier but the heat was not a solid thing and the barrier could not keep it out.

Rathamaru walked to the Mage and whispered, "I don't forgive you."

Turning from the Mage, he moved to the doors. They fell away in ruin, opening the way to freedom. But JungSo was no longer capable of moving. His body was melting from the incredible heat that the boy was creating. He could not even scream as he died.

The boy walked down the hall, everyone fleeing before him and in his wake, Balgor burned. Those who did not make out, died with the Green Tower. Rathamaru walked outside and the tents and huts around the Tower burst into flames. He went to the nearby lake and walked into the water. The water steamed and then began to boil, until the huge lake was bone dry. But it had done its job; the boy's heat was finally quenched.
