Spirit Portal
Northern Lands
Rain stood in front of a huge silver portal that gave off a soft silver glow. It was letting cold wind out of it as felt like the dead touch. She looked up at it then let out a soft sigh, which could be seen. She wasn’t sure what was the reason for it since it wasn’t even near Wicked month. But she needed to do something.
She thought a bit then reached her hands up. She began saying words to a spell that used to close the portal. As she said each word, the portal would make a high pitch sound as if it didn’t want to be closed. The sound only got more annoying as she repeated the words.
After a week passed, and nothing changed. She stopped saying the spell and glared even colder glares at the portal that the portal it’s self seemed to twitched. “Will you just close and stop being an ass?” She asked in a cold voice. She didn’t get any answer, not that she wanted any.
“Talking to it, won’t do anything.”
Rain turned and blinked a bit. Standing near by, stood Sin, the only mage of Elyasia. She had long fire red hair and cold maroon eyes that showed more anger then anything. Sin was the mage guarding the demon portal from the northern lands in the demon realm. Just how she was able to deal with all of those demons was not fully understandable yet word is that the males in the northern lands were scared of her.
“Hello Sin. Welcome back to Elyasia. Did Lyne send you?” Rain asked. She was happy to see her old friend yet didn’t show it. Oddly out of all of the mages of Elyasia, Rain and Sin were more alike then anything and so they became best friends with little words.
“Nah.” Sin walked over to her and stood next to her. “I feel this portal all the back in Raizen’s place. That demon lord sent me since he didn’t like the aura I was giving off.” She said with little growling. “That demon got some balls to order me around.”
Rain watched her then smiled softly. “But you follow his orders without a fight.”
The red head blinked then sighed. “Yea but I did killed a few of his followers. Just how is he linked to our princesses?”
The green-blue haired mage thought a bit. “Blood I believe. Maybe he’s their uncle somehow.”
“I see. Well who cares. Now tell me about this damned portal?”
The girls turned to the portal and both sighed. “I don’t know why but it’s fighting be to be closed.” Rain said softly.
Sin thought a bit then smirked. “Well why don’t we both give it a try?”
Rain looked at her oddly then nodded. “Alright.”
And so they reached up their arms and both mages began saying the words to the spell. The portal gave out another high pitch sound as if it really didn’t want to be closed.
Softly behind the girls, a male began saying the dragon version of the spell which the sound began to fade.
Rain knew who it would since only Max knew of that spell since his father once guarded the portal of the dead as the dragons called the spirit portal. But she kept her eyes on the portal and kept saying the words. She didn’t even looked when he walked up behind her and put his hands next to hers.
After two hours of repeated the spell’s words, the portal finally gave in and closed. Once it closed, Sin fell to her knees as Rain fell into Max’s arms, all three of them panting softly.
“I hate this portal....” Sin muttered as she tried to calm down her breathing.
“I do too, Mage.” Max said as he knelt down with Rain in his arms. He looked down worriedly at her. “I hate it more...each year...”
She looked over at them and sighed. “Dragon, she just needs to rest. Take her back to her tower.”
He nodded and picked up the passed out mage. He turned and walked passed Sin. “You should head back too.” He said as he passed her.
She sighed and stood up. “Yea yea...” She muttered, going back to her own portal watching.
Once Max walked into the garden that linked the Mage tower to the northern castle, Lira ran up and stopped in front of them. He could see worry all over her face but mostly in her eyes. “Princess, She’s fine. Just need rest.”
“Maxie, please let Takumi look over her? I feel something off from her.”
The dragon sighed softly. “Have him come to the tower. I’ll let him check her there. Okay?”
She nodded and went to go get Takumi.
He shook his head and went to the tower. He went up 3 floors until he got to their room. He kicked open the door and went inside. The room was soft blue colored walls with books, magical items and etc everywhere. He went over a few books and went over to the bed. He gently laid her down and stood up. “Rain... just how much magic did you use?”
Rain let out a soft groan and opened her eyes. She looked up at him and sighed. “I used a lot....since that damn portal was being an asshole...” She muttered.
Max shook his head. “Next time, I’m doing it. Dragon spells are more stronger then yours...”
She smiled softly. “Or we both can do it...” She said before falling asleep again.
He smiled. “That’s a deal.” He then sighed as he turned to see Takumi watching them.
“What? I didn’t want to stop the sweet moment.” Takumi said after Max turned to him.
“It’s fine. Check her then go back to Lira.” He said softly as he walked out of the room.
The panther blinked a bit but walked over and checked the mage. He noticed that she was only low of magical energy but with lot of sleep, the energy would return. He whispered a small spell that gave her a little of his own energy which he didn’t mind sharing. Once he was done, he left and went back to Lira, letting her know.
Max, on the other hand, went back to the portal, looking up at it. “You have my father....don’t take my mate...” He muttered to the quiet portal.
Back in the Dragon war, Max’s father who was the clan leader of the water dragons, was also the main guardian of the Spirit Portal but he guarded the one back in Skull forest. The clan was asked by Lyne to watch over the portal since that one portal was the main one. That clan was still watching over that portal but since the war ended and all of that, Max as yet to returned to the clan. Since his father’s death was by that portal. And he wanted to help Rain watch the newest portal that formed after the war.
